Hello, I'm Denis...

I am an integratively trained humanistic counsellor with nine years of post-qualification experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, ages and life experiences.

My journey began in education as a secondary school teacher before moving to the UK, where I trained and worked as a youth worker for 15 years, alongside other caring and support roles. I later trained as an integrative counsellor, bringing together my professional experience with a deep understanding of the experiences and challenges that can shape our lives.

I have particular experience working with teenagers and young adults, although I work with people across a range of ages and backgrounds. Seven of my nine years as a qualified counsellor have been spent working as a counsellor in a private school, alongside my work in private practice in Somerset and online with clients across the UK.

Over the years, I have developed extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of difficulties, including loss and bereavement, interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, anger and other emotional and psychological challenges.

As someone who has lived between cultures and been part of an intercultural family for over two decades, I understand how culture, identity, relationships and life circumstances can influence our inner lives and sense of belonging.

I see therapy not as finding the “right” way to be, but as learning to belong to yourself. My role is to offer a thoughtful, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, tune in and make sense of what matters to you. Together, we can work towards developing an inner sense of home, grounded in care, understanding and what feels true to you.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), reflecting my commitment to professional standards, ethical practice and ongoing professional development.

My qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Integrative Counselling from the University of Worcester.
